What fabric are wedding dresses and most prom dresses made out of??
i thought it was like silk but its alot thicker than silk .. ??

Silk can be quite thick, depending on how it’s spun and woven. Many prom and wedding dresses are made of silk dupoini. This is a thicker silk with a slight slub weave and a very soft and subtle glow. It’s one of my favourite fabrics to work with, it sews up into elegant and glamorous gown, it’s easy to embellish and hold beads better than lighter silks such as peau de soie or crepe, and is available in a rainbow of colours. Lower-end dresses are often made in crepe-backed satin, usually polyester. It has a special weve that makes it lok like crepe on one side and satin on the other and is there for a little bulkier looking. It’s far cheaper and can give someone an attractive dress for less money than if the dress were made of silk..
