Do you think I can get my bridesmaid dress altered into a wedding gown?
I will be a bridesmaid for my best friend in June. We’re wearing simple, A-line white bridesmaid dresses. They’re very pretty but very simple. The skirt is like a straight, not flowy, A-line skirt to the floor.
I’ll be getting married a year after her, and my fiance and I are considerably poorer than they are (students both!) and I’m thinking whether it’s possible to use my bridesmaid gown as my wedding dress! I’d like for it to be a bit fancier, but I have NO clue on whether this is good etiquette or even possible at all to make the skirt part bigger or put something fancy on it… Frankly I don’t need it to be all that great… It would just be nice to save a few hundred dollars if I’ve already got a white dress. 
Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
sure you can – you can have a train added from the back – and a bow and then have the bodice beaded or put lace on it. You could even do some of it yourself!
